Autism Awareness Cards in Different Languages

Just a quick post before I go and get some lunch, about my Autism Awareness Cards. I set out some time ago to get the wording on these cards translated so they could be used when on holiday. Autism is hard enough to describe to others who have no knowledge of it in your native tongue! I am now offering these cards as a download on my website. As before, they are free to anyone to wishes to use them.
Available in Dutch, English, Estonian, French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.
Click here to be taken to the listings page on my website.
Or click on the following links below to download from my Google drive.

Right, I'm off to see what's in for lunch.
Take care

Transition Issues

The Autism Education Trust has a Transitions Toolkit which although written for teaching staff seems to provide some useful tips on dealing with transition periods. It would also be useful to direct staff to if you feel they are not doing enough to help your child. Here's the link. They also have some resources which you may be able to use at home, here.
There is also some advice on the National Autistic Society website, here.
Aberdeenshire Council do have a transition programme for children who staff feel may benefit from extra help. As far as I'm aware this programme is still running.
I will look into working on some resources of my own - star charts, emotions fans, timetables and mini award notes, etc., and upload them soon. Any ideas to add to this, just let me know.

A Couple of New Freebies

Hi
I've just uploaded two new sets of Autism cards, Star Wars and Mario.
I also made these Star Wars birthday printables for Theo's Birthday which I thought other young Jedi's might like too! These are only to be used for your own personal use and cannot be sold (due to copyright licencing on them).
Party bags and pencil boxes
Cake boxes
Crackers
Water bottle wraps
Chocolate bar wrappers

Enjoy

Free Entrance to Attractions!

Hi
If you are a member of a group like The National Autistic Society which provides you with a member ship card or have other proof of your child's disability then you may be able to get free entry to places.
Yesterday, I used my membership card and got into Landmark (Carrbridge) for nothing. Many places don't advertise this concession and I was told that they had problems with people asking for free entry but not being able to provide proof and then complaining! So if you have the proof then ask - you might not get anything but it's certainly worth trying!!
